Rain changes MIL soccer schedule

Rain on Wednesday forced the postponement of all three soccer matches on the Maui Interscholastic League schedule, and prompted a change to the date of a potential girls playoff match.

The Baldwin High School and Seabury Hall girls teams are now slated to meet today at 4 p.m. at Seabury’s campus field in Olinda in the regular-season finale for both teams. If the Bears win that game, they would tie Maui High for second place in the league’s Division I standings. If that occurs, the Bears and Sabers would meet Saturday at 5 p.m. at King Kekaulike Stadium in Pukalani in a playoff for the MIL’s second berth in the D-I state tournament.

The playoff game had been scheduled for today.

Also on Wednesday, the Maui High boys team was scheduled to play Lahainaluna at the Lahaina Youth Center, and the Baldwin and St. Anthony boys were to meet at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku.

The match between the Sabers and Lunas has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Monday in Lahaina. A new date for the Bears and Trojans has not been determined.
