Bears extend winning streak to 52
Kimberlie Miyamoto shot a 37 as the Baldwin High School girls golf team extended its Maui Interscholastic League winning streak to 52 matches on Tuesday, the first day of the league season, with a 119-128 victory over Maui High at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course.
Kaylee Shimuzu and Kirsten Ishikawa each had rounds of 41 for the Bears, and Erin Kobayashi carded a 47.
Baldwin’s winning streak is tied for the third-longest in MIL history in any sport – the Lahainaluna water polo team won 52 matches in a row from 2005 to 2012.
Reigning MIL champion Kristeena Locke had a 40 for the Sabers, as did Jasmine Cabajar. Taylor Akamine had a 48, and Anna Apana a 50.

At The Dunes at Maui Lani in Kahului, Caitlyn Villatora posted the low score for Lahainaluna, a 38.
Caylyn Villatora had a 46 for the Lunas, Enna Cabading a 49 and Haylee Patch a 73.
Kamehameha Maui got a 45 from Nicole Nagamine. Shaina Hipolito had a 48, Kodi Joyo a 51 and Kalena Tamashiro a 65.
