Honolua Bay will be final stop on ASP women’s tour
Honolua Bay has been selected as the final stop on the Association of Surfing Professionals 2014 women’s world championship tour.
The holding period for the event will be Nov. 24 through Dec. 6. Maui was a regular stop on the elite ASP women’s tour until 2009.
“Maui will always hold a special place in my heart,” said Stephanie Gilmore, a five-time ASP women’s champion. “It’s where I clinched my first world title and Honolua Bay was very good to me over the years. It’s a world-class wave and befitting of the talent we have on tour this season. What a fantastic way to end the year.”
The 10-stop tour will start March 1 at Gold Coast, Australia.
