Locke cards round of 38 as Sabers beat Spartans

Kristeena Locke posted a 38 and Jasmine Cabajar and Taylor Akamine each rounds of 40 as the Maui High School girls golf team beat Seabury Hall 118-170 in a Maui Interscholastic League match Tuesday at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course.

Anna Apana had a 46 for the Sabers (2-1), Dayna Yoshimura recorded a 47 and Courtney Cadiz had a 51.

The Spartans, who were playing their season opener, got a 53 from Natasha Salamack. Jimmie Stisher shot a 54, Jessica Brown a 63 and Joy Balinbin a 67.

At The Dunes at Maui Lani in Kahului, Kimberlie Miya-moto and Kirstin Ishikawa each had rounds of 36 as Baldwin (2-1) bounced back after suffering its first MIL loss in 53 matches last week.

Erin Kobayashi had a 56 for the Bears, and Kailey Garcia carded a 62.

Nicole Nagamine’s 42 was the low score for Kamehameha Maui (0-3). Kodi Joyo posted a 43, and Kalena Tamashiro had a 53.
