Lunas open with victory over Spartans
Three players posted rounds of 40 for Lahainaluna High School in a 163-215 victory over Seabury Hall on Wednesday, the first day of the Maui Interscholastic League boys golf season.
Rhett Wiseman, Kerek Franz and Kaimi Kanaha all shot 40 at The Dunes at Maui Lani in Kahului. Lucas Bell and Lance Ito each had rounds of 43 for Lahainaluna, last year’s MIL runner-up, and alternate Tristan Villa had a 42.
Aron Graziano had a 45 for the Spartans, whose other scorers were Dawud Moragne (51), Justin Medeiros (57) and Nate Thomas (62). Max Hurd carded a 63.
Kamehameha Maui boys 165 Maui High 217
At Waiehu Municipal Golf Course, Lucas Park had a 34 for Kamehameha Maui, and Jacob Puu carded a 36.
The Warriors’ Kainalu Steward had a 46, and Cade Harris a 49. Kalei Stanich (52) and Zack Fasi (74) posted the other scores for Kamehameha.
Dylan Manibog’s 42 was the low score for Maui High. Chase Baker carded a 50, Menard Guillermo a 58 and Colton Rishord a 67.

At the Kapalua Bay Course, Corey McMurray and Adam Quandt each had rounds of 43 for Maui Prep.
Jonah Bluh had a 67 for Na Pueo, Nick Head a 70 and Zac Giles a 79.
Reece Ibarra (63) had the low round for King Kekaulike. Na Alii’s other scorers were Elijah Engoring (69), Ian Manibog (70) and Austin Ferriera (74). Michael Kleeman carded an 86.
