Na Alii bow out; Farmers place fourth
King Kekaulike High School was eliminated from the Hawaiian Airlines Division I Girls Basketball State Championship on Saturday at the Neal Blaisdell Center, and Molokai finished fourth in Division II.
Na Alii lost 62-39 to third-seeded Punahou in a quarterfinal-round game. Molokai, the No. 4 seed, lost 43-27 to second-seeded Hawaii Baptist.
Dasya Tavares had 17 points and six rebounds for King Kekaulike (10-6). Sylvania Amor had seven points and seven rebounds, and Brandi Carillo had six points and six rebounds.
Elle Uyeda and Keaupono Fey each scored 10 points for the Buffanblu (12-1), who led 31-10 after the first quarter and 56-24 after three.
Molokai finished its season 14-3. Hawaii Baptist ended with an 11-1 mark.
Statistics were not available for the D-II third-place game.
