Seabury girls crew places third
The Seabury Hall girls canoe paddling crew placed third in the First Hawaiian Bank State Championship regatta on Saturday at Keehi Lagoon on Oahu, the top finish for a Maui Interscholastic League team.
Ashley Tanga, Kamaile Lee, Alexis Smith, Mikeala McDaniel, Mikela Wesson and Mapu Andrade had a time of 4 minutes, 18.39 seconds in the final of the half-mile races. Kamehameha Kapalama won in 4:09.31. Molokai finished fifth in 4:27.23.
Baldwin was fourth in the boys final, in 3:43.37, and Seabury was sixth in 3:49.33. Kamehameha Kapalama won in 3:35.17.
In the mixed final, Kamehameha Maui finished fifth in 4:00.90. Seabury Hall was called for a false start in the mixed final, finishing eighth. Punahou won the race in 3:47.20.
