Three scores in 30s help Lahainaluna top Seabury
The Lahainaluna High School boys golf team had three players shoot in the 30s on Friday in a 154-196 victory over Seabury Hall in a Maui Interscholastic League match at the Kaanapali Kai Course.
Lucas Bell had a 37 for the Lunas (2-0), posting a strong finish after bogeying his first three holes. Lance Ito carded a 38, and Rhett Wiseman a 39. Kerek Franz (40) was the team’s other scorer, and Kaimi Kanaha posted a 43.
Aron Graziano’s 42 was the low round for the Spartans (0-2), whose other scorers were Dawud Moragne (44), Max Hurd (50) and Nate Thomas (60). Justin Medeiros had a 69.
MAUI PREP BOYS 170, KING KEKAULIKE 229
At Pukalani Country Club, Adam Quandy carded a 32 in seven holes, Corey McMurray had a 36 and Maui Prep improved to 2-0.
Na Pueo’s Nick Head had a 50, and Jonah Bluh shot 52. Zac Giles recorded a 55.
The scorers for King Kekaulike (0-2) were Austin Ferreira (54), Elijah Engoring (57), Michael Kleema (58) and Ian Manibog (60). Jacob Stenger, an alternate, had a 60, and Thomas Peterson posted a 63.
KAMEHAMEHA MAUI BOYS 190, MAUI HIGH 233
At The Dunes at Maui Lani in Kahului, Jacob Puu shot a 40 to help Kamehameha Maui improve to 2-0.
Lucas Park had a 42 for the Warriors, Cade Harris had a 47 and Kainalu Steward a 61. Nonscoring alternate Mitchel Dutro had a 45. Kalei Stanich had a 65, and Zack Fasi recorded a 73.
Maui High got rounds of 47 from Dylan Manibog and Chase Baker. Maynard Guittermo carded a 64 and Colton Richard a 75.
MAUI HIGH GIRLS 112, SEABURY HALL 166
At The Dunes at Maui Lani, Jasmine Cabajar and Taylor Akamine each had rounds of 36 for Maui High (3-1), and Anna Apana shot 40.
The Sabers’ Dayna Yoshimura carded a 47.
Natasha Salamack had a 44 for Seabury Hall (0-2), while Jessica Brown and Joy Balinbin each shot 61. Jasmine Patel had a 65.
