Rain prompts MIL schedule changes
Rain caused the postponement of all the Maui Interscholastic League baseball, softball and tennis events scheduled for Friday, as well as a track and field meet and golf match.
Two baseball games were scheduled for Maehara Stadium in Wailuku – Kamehameha Schools Maui was to have played Lahainaluna, and Maui High was slated to face King Kekaulike. A game between St. Anthony and Seabury Hall at Eddie Tam Field in Makawao also was rained out.
Kamehameha and Lahainaluna are now slated to meet at 10 a.m. today at Lahaina Recreation Center. The other two games scheduled for Friday were moved to April 7 – St. Anthony and Seabury Hall are to meet at Eddie Tam at 3:30 p.m., and Maui High and King Kekaulike will play at 6 p.m. at Maehara.
Additionally, today’s games originally scheduled for Maehara were moved to Lahaina – King Kekaulike will face Maui High at 12:30 p.m., and St. Anthony will play Seabury at 3 p.m.
In softball, both games at Patsy Mink Field in Kahului were postponed. Baldwin is now slated to play King Kekaulike at 4 p.m. on Monday at the same site, with Maui High facing Kamehameha in the game that follows, at approximately 6 p.m.
The games rescheduled for Monday meant another make-up game that had been scheduled for that day – between Baldwin and Kamehameha – will be moved again, to 6 p.m. on April 7 at Patsy Mink.
Both games in Division II that were rained out are to be made up as doubleheaders today. Hana will host two games against St. Anthony, starting at 9 a.m., while Seabury Hall and Lanai are to start their twinbill at 10 a.m. at Patsy Mink Field – if the venue is unplayable, the games between the Spartans and Pine Lasses would be moved to Lahainaluna, and begin at noon.
Boys and girls tennis matches between Molokai and St. Anthony at War Memorial Courts in Wailuku were rained out. The teams are now slated to meet today at 6:30 a.m. at the Lahaina Civic Center courts, and Molokai will then play Lahainaluna at 9 a.m.
Tennis matches between King Kekaulike and Lanai in Lanai City were rained out as well, and are to be made up as part of a doubleheader today, starting at 9 a.m.
MIL track and field meet No. 3 at Yamamoto Track & Field Facility in Wailuku was rained out, along with a boys golf match between Seabury Hall and King Kekaulike at Pukalani Country Club.
