Lahainaluna, Baldwin to play off for regular-season championship

The Baldwin High School water polo team defeated Kamehameha Maui 12-10 on Thursday at Kihei Aquatic Center, and Lahainaluna beat Maui High by forfeit, leaving the Bears and Sabers tied atop the Maui Interscholastic League regular-season standings and forcing a playoff.

Both teams finished 9-1, and split their two meetings with each other this season.

The playoff match is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kamehameha Maui pool in Pukalani.
