Ngan, Miyamoto remain atop leaderboards

Justin Ngan and Kimberlie Miyamoto of Baldwin High School remained the leaders after Friday’s second round of the Maui Interscholastic League individual golf championships at Kahili Golf Course in Waikapu.

Ngan shot a 75 for a 143 total, and the Bears finished the round with the top four spots in the boys standings. Ariel Elftman-Hanson (75) was three shots behind Ngan, while John Kaylan Dumo (74) and Tyler Munetake (75) were at 148.

Miyamoto shot 77 and was at 152 to lead the girls event, one shot in front of teammate Kaylee Shimizu, whose 72 was the low round of the day.

Caylyn Villatora (78) of Lahainaluna was another seven shots back. The Lunas’ Caitlyn Villatora (80) and Maui High’s Jasmine Cabajar (84) were both at 163.

The third round of the 90-hole event is today at the Wailea Old Blue Course.
