Leuteneker makes verbal commitment to Oregon State

Seabury Hall junior Kiki Leuteneker said Thursday she has verbally committed to a women’s volleyball scholarship from Oregon State.

“I’m really excited to be going, and also relieved that the college process is over,” said Leuteneker, a Maui Interscholastic League Division II first-team All-Star last year.

Leuteneker said she might graduate a semester early, and that the scholarship could begin in January. She can formally sign in November.

“I’ve been looking at a lot of Division I schools, because I wanted to play in Division I,” Leuteneker said.

“I was offered a spot at Cal State East Bay, but I wanted to play Division I.”

Oregon State went 9-22 last season with an 0-20 mark in the Pac-12, but had just one senior on the roster.
