Rain alters MIL baseball schedule
Rain at Maehara Stadium in Wailuku led to the postponement of Friday’s two scheduled Maui Interscholastic League baseball tournament games.
The Division II tournament final between St. Anthony High School and Molokai was rescheduled to 10 a.m. today, at Maehara Stadium if conditions allow, or at the Lahaina Recreation Center.
If the Trojans beat the Farmers, an overall league championship game will also be played today – it would immediately follow the D-II tournament final if the teams are playing in Lahaina, or would take place at approximately 3:30 p.m. if the teams are playing at Maehara.
A D-I semifinal between Maui High and Kamehameha Maui was rescheduled for 1 p.m. at Maehara. If the field cannot be used, the game between the Sabers and Warriors will be postponed to 6 p.m. Monday at Maehara. If Maui High and Kamehameha are able to play Saturday, the winner would face regular-season champion Baldwin in the tournament final at 6 p.m. Monday. Maui High finished second in the regular season, and would clinch a spot in the state tournament with a win in the MIL tournament semifinals.
A D-I playoff game, if needed to decide either the overall title or runner-up spot, is tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Maehara.
