Island Water Polo readies for Junior Olympics
Island Water Polo’s 12-and-under team continued its preparation for the Junior Olympics by competing in the 14-and-under division of the Kapolei Tournament on Saturday at the Oahu Hope Chapel Pool, winning one of its three matches.
The Maui team recorded a 5-4 victory over Kahuku B, with a 7-4 loss to Ka-huku A and a 6-3 loss to Kapolei.
Jacsen Donohue totaled three goals, three assists and two steals in the three matches, and Jadelyn Warren had a goal, an assist and four steals. Keanna Campbell had two steals and an assist, Eden Lingenfelder had a block and a steal, Ashlie Lawrence had a steal and Gracie Lawrence had an assist.
The rest of the team comprised Sela Ngalu, Ashlyn Robinson, Kylie Robinson and Tori Gucatan.
Island Water Polo will begin play in the Junior Olympics in Stanford, Calif., on July 29. The event runs through Aug. 3.
