Jonke leads division by four strokes
Dillon Jonke of Kihei shot a 89 to take the lead in the boys 10-and-under division after Saturday’s first round of the Aloha Junior PGA Championship on Saturday at the Kaanapali Kai Course.
Jonke’s 19-over-par round left him four shots in front of Kahului’s Anson Cabello.
The other leaders entering today’s final 18 holes were from Oahu.
Honolulu’s Andrew Chin and Kyle Suppa were tied atop the boys 13-18 leaderboard at 65, two shots in front of Wailuku’s Ariel Elftman-Hanson.
Allysha Mae Mateo (70) of Mililani was one shot in front of Honolulu’s Rose Huang in the girls 13-18 division.
Kolbe Irei had a 73 and topped the boys 11-12 division, 35 shots in front of Kula’s Danny Judge.
Honolulu’s Millburn Ho led the girls 11-12 division with a 72, and Lana Calibuso-Kwee of Wailuku was in second place at 74.
Minny Byun of Honolulu posted the lowest score in the girls 10-and-under division, a 70. Haiku’s Summer Wong (77) was second.
