Ngan leads junior event by one shot
Justin Ngan of Wailuku shot a 2-under-par 70 on Monday in the opening round of the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association’s Dave and Buster’s Junior Classic at Waikele Country Club on Oahu, giving him a one-shot lead in the boys 15-18 division.
Honolulu’s Shawn Lu was in second place entering today’s final 18 holes.
Wailuku’s Tyler Munetake (73) was fourth, and John Kaylan Dumo shot 78.
In the girls 15-18 division, Jasmine Cabajar of Wailuku shot 77 and was tied for fourth. Honolulu’s Allisen Corpuz was the leader at 72.
Ryan Chang of Wailuku was fifth in the boys 13-14 division after carding an 82 that left him 10 shots behind Honolulu’s A.J. Kioki Teraoka and Evan Kawai. Wailuku’s Chad Lee was another shot back, and Jordan Terada of Kahului shot 84.
