Munetake ties for sixth at HSJGA event

Tyler Munetake of Wailuku shot a 6-over-par 78 and finished tied for sixth in the boys 15-18 division at the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association’s King Auto Group State Championship on Wednesday at The Club at Hokulia on the Big Island.

Munetake had a total of 7-over 151 to finish seven strokes behind medalist Shawn Lu of Honolulu, who was 2-under on Wednesday.

Wailuku’s Justin Jay Arcano (75-152, t9th), Justin Ngan (79-162, 16th) and Nathaniel Idica (86-176, 21st) also competed in the division.

In the boys 13-14 division, Jordan Te-rada of Kahului finished tied for seventh after an 88-173. Evan Kawai of Honolulu won the division at 73-149.

Kimberlie Miyamoto of Kahului finished tied for eighth in the girls 15-18 division after a 79-157. Rose Huang of Honolulu won with a 69-140.

Wailuku’s Jasmine Cabajar (84-160, 9th), Pukalani’s Kirsten Ishikawa (80-161, t10th), Lahaina’s Caitlyn Villatora (80-165, 13th), Wailuku’s Kaylee Akemi Shimizu (90-174, 17th) and Lahaina’s Caylyn Villatora (93-182, 18th) also competed in the division.

Jaelin Ishikawa of Pukalani finished fifth in the girls 13-14 division with a 90-180. Allysha Mae Mateo of Mililani won the division with a 76-157.
