Arcano, Cabajar claim junior golf titles at Hualalai
Justin Jay Arcano and Jasmine Cabajar of Wai-luku each won division titles in the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association’s Hualalai Classic on Sunday at Hualalai Resort on the Big Island.
Cabajar won the girls 15-18 division, leading a Maui sweep of the top two spots. Cabajar closed with a 4-over-par 76 to finish at 12-over 156, two shots in front of Pukalani’s Kirsten Ishikawa (77).
Arcano matched the lowest round of the tournament, in any division, with a 73 for a 150 total, one shot better than Kauai’s Jamie Amimoto (75). Tyler Munetake and Justin Ngan of Wailuku tied for fourth at 155. Munetake closed with a 74, and Ngan shot 75.
Kahului’s Reese Guzman was third in the girls 13-14 division after a final-round 81 gave her a total of 161. Allysha Mae Mateo (74) of Oahu won with a 150. Pukalani’s Jaelin Ishikawa (86) was seventh at 174.
Ryan Chang of Wailuku finished sixth in the boys 13-14 division, closing with a 79 for a 162 total. The Big Island’s Pono Yanagi (80) was the winner, with a 153.
