Four from Maui earn HSJGA titles
Four competitors from Maui won division championships in the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association’s All-Ages Tour event that concluded Sunday at the Kapalua Bay Course.
Kirsten Ishikawa of Pukalani took the girls 15-18 division title, and Justin Ngan of Wailuku was the boys 15-18 champion. Lana Calibuso-Kwee of Wailuku won in girls 11-12, and Summer Wong of Haiku in girls 7-10.
Ishikawa closed with a 1-over-par 73 to finish the 36-hole event at 6-over 150, one shot in front of Honolulu’s Tuan-yu Chiang. Kaylee Shimizu (78) of Wailuku was third at 155.
Ngan’s final-round 70 gave him a 145 total. Honolulu’s Remington Hirano (74) and Kahului’s Noah Miller (73) both finished at 149.
Calibuso-Kwee’s 81 gave her a 160 total. Millburn Ho (84) of Honolulu and Joy Callinan of Makawao (81) each finished at 162.
Wong closed with an 81 for a 163. Mililani’s Shelby Keolanui was two shots behind after an 83. Wailuku’s Kelsie Sparks (103) was third at 206.
Reese Guzman of Kahului was the girls 13-14 runner-up to Allysha Mae Mateo of Mililani on a tiebreaker after both players shot 78 to finish at 158.
A.J. Kioki Teraoka of Honolulu was the boys 13-14 winner, carding a 69 to finish at 141, three shots in front of Honolulu’s Andrew Otani (69). Wailuku’s Chad Lee (77) and Jordan Terada (75) each finished at 153.
In the boys 7-10 division, Go Nakatsukasa of Honolulu carded a 71 for a winning total of 148. Lahaina’s Ian Chapital (93) was second at 189, and Kihei’s Dillon Ikaika Jonke (97) was third, another two shots behind.
