Tendo tied for 25th at Senior Men’s North & South Amateur

Ray Tendo of Makawao carded a 4-over-par 76 in Wednesday’s second round of the Senior Men’s North & South Amateur at Pinehurst No. 5 in Pinehurst, N.C., leaving him in a tie for 25th place.

Tendo, who started Wednesday’s round tied for 19th, was at 11-over 155 for the tournament and 11 strokes behind leader George Walker of Mobile, Ala.

Tendo birdied the first, third and 17th holes, bogeyed Nos. 2, 5, 6, 11 and posted a triple bogey at the par-4 No. 16.

Tendo, this year’s Hawaii senior amateur champion, is scheduled to tee off at 3 a.m. Hawaii time for today’s final round at Pinehurst No. 8.

Robert Parmar, of Fairhopes, Ala. is in second after a 1-over 145.

The Senior Men’s North & South Amateur is in its 63rd year.
