Weekend football games canceled
The Baldwin vs. Farrington high school football game scheduled for Saturday at War Memorial Stadium has been called off due to concerns about Hurricane Iselle, Baldwin officials told The Maui News on Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, officials canceled the King Kekaulike-Alberta, Canada contest.
Neither game will be made up, according to Baldwin athletic director Kahai Shishido and King Kekaulike A.D. P.K. Higa.
On Tuesday, the Lahainaluna-Keaau game set for Friday at War Memorial was canceled.
Kamehameha Maui’s visit to Aloha Stadium on Saturday to play Iolani – the only other game involving a Maui Interscholastic League team this weekend – is still on, with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
There are two non-league games on Maui scheduled for next weekend – Kealakehe vs. Maui High at 7 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium on Aug. 15 and Pac-Five at King Kekaulike at 7 p.m. on Aug. 16.
The MIL regular season is to begin Aug. 21, with Maui High facing Kamehameha Maui at War Memorial Stadium.
