Tendo takes Maui Country Club crown

Raymond Tendo won the Maui Country Club championship that took place Nov. 4-6 in Spreckelsville.

Tendo had a 54-hole total of 1-over-par 217, beating Howard Kihune by nine shots. Gary Gangnath and Grant Shoemaker tied for third at 239.

Lisa Judge was the women’s winner with a 36-hole score of 149.

Mitch Bradley was the 36-hole low net winner, with a 141. Al Layer finished a shot back and Ed Schafer (146) was third.

Gwen Kauhaapo (143) was the women’s low net winner.


Tickets for Fed Cup in Lahaina go on sale

Tickets for Fed Cup matches between the United States and Germany scheduled for Feb. 11-12 at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch will go on sale today for USTA members, and on Friday, starting at 10 a.m., for the general public.

Tickets can be purchased at or by calling (888) 334-8782.

Tickets will be sold only in two-day packages through Jan. 5, with prices ranging from $50 to $190. After that date, single-day tickets will be available, with prices ranging from $30 to $100 per day.

The U.S. roster will be announced no later than Feb. 1.
