Warriors top Lunas, close in on state berth

Kameaiomakamae Drayer-Hoopii and Ilihia Keawekane each scored two goals to help the Lahainaluna High School girls soccer defeat Lahainaluna 8-0 on Thursday at Kanaiaupuni Stadium in Pukalani.

Kiana Over, Aulii Damore, Kayla Tuitele and Leialoha Medeiros also scored for the Warriors, who improved to 7-3-1 in Maui Interscholastic League play. A win or tie in its regular-season finale against St. Anthony (0-11-0) on Saturday will give Kamehameha the MIL’s second and final Division I state tournament berth.

The Lunas end the season at 2-10-0.

Maui High girls 2, King Kekaulike 2, tie

At Kahului, the Sabers and Na Alii played to a draw.

Laney Flanagan and Alyssa Antolin scored for Maui High (6-4-1).

Erynn Duquette and Mia Rose Daly had goals for King Kekaulike, which ends the regular season at 6-2-4.
