Bears remain unbeaten with win over Warriors

The Maui News – Rebecca Buenrostro-Gallimore scored three goals and Kiara Espeleta had eight saves to lead the Baldwin High School water polo team to a 10-2 victory over Kamehameha Maui on Tuesday at the Warriors’ pool in Pukalani.

Kristi Kimura and Olivia Takakura each had two goals, and Morena Kordei, Katie Yoshioka and Isabella Strand also scored as the Bears (7-0) remained unbeaten in Maui Interscholastic League play.

Tiyanni Mahi and Selafina Ngalu scored for the Warriors (2-6).

Seabury Hall 1

At Pukalani, Julia Bianco had two goals as the Lunas improved to 7-1.

The teams were tied 1-1 at halftime, but Lahainaluna scored three goals in the third quarter to pull away.

Sydney Wagner had eight saves, and the Lunas also got goals from Nikki Zamani, Kyra Franz and Eva Olson.

Lily Pickering scored the lone goal for the Spartans

(2-6). Goalie Nanea Haynes recorded 12 blocks.
