King Kekaulike advances to semifinal round

The Maui News

King Kekaulike High School defeated Ka-mehameha Maui 14-2 in five innings Wednesday at Patsy Mink Field in Kahului to earn a spot in the semifinal round of the Maui Interscholastic League Division I softball tournament.

Na Alii (5-8) will play regular-season champion Lahainaluna today. In the other semifinal, Baldwin will meet Maui High. Victories today for the Lunas and Bears would assure Baldwin of a berth in the state tournament.

The Warriors fell to 0-13.

The D-I tournament final is on Friday, which is also when the D-II tournament begins — regular-season champion Molokai will face Hana in one semifinal, and Lanai will take on Seabury Hall in the other.
