Seabury defeats Molokai, improves to 5-0

The Seabury Hall boys tennis team extended its perfect start to the season, and took a half-game lead in the Maui Interscholastic League East Division standings, by defeating Molokai 5-0 on Saturday in Hoolehua.

The Spartans (5-0), who began the day percentage points ahead of King Kekaulike, did not drop a set in singles play. Silvan Engert was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Noeau Likua at No. 1, Miles Stone beat Kurtis Ostlund 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 and Corrado Rusnak won by default at No. 3.

The Farmers (2-4) were eliminated from contention for a spot in the MIL playoffs.

Seabury won the girls match 3-1, improving to 2-2. Molokai is now 0-6.
