UFC says it has not been told of violation by Casey

An official with the Ultimate Fighting Championship was quoted Friday as saying the mixed martial arts circuit had not been told by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency of a violation by Cortney Casey after reports emerged of the Kahului strawweight failing a drug test after her win over Jessica Aguilar at UFC 211 in Dallas on May 13.
“We have not been informed by USADA of anything regarding a potential anti-doping policy violation for Cortney Casey,” Jeff No-vitzky, the UFC’s vice president of health and performance, said on mmafighting.com, a website operated by SB Nation. “No positive tests, no suspicion of anything — now or in the past. USADA has not been in contact with us about anything at all related to that.”
According to the website, Casey tested positive for a testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio that surpassed the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation limit and faces a three-month suspension. The site also reported, however, that while the same threshold is used by the World Anti-Doping Agency, surpassing it would not immediately result in a sanction, but would instead call for additional tests.
As of Saturday evening, Casey was still credited with a win by decision over Aguilar on ufc.com, and was listed as the 11th-ranked fighter in her class.
