The Maui News

Maui was eliminated from the Pony League Palomino (17-18) Division West Zone tournament Friday with a 9-5 loss to the Colton (Calif.) Nighthawks in Compton, Calif.

Micah Jio and Iokepa Supnet each had two hits for Maui. Tristan Carter was the losing pitcher.

Maui coach Kelly Fliear said via text message that the games at the MLB Urban Youth Academy provided a “good experience for our players.”

Central East Maui Little League will play North Palm Beach, Fla., in the Intermediate (12-13) Division World Series on Sunday in Livermore, Calif., and Central’s team in the Senior (15-16) League World Series will face Easley, S.C., or West University of Houston on Sunday in Easley.
