Monday–Maui High School will conduct varsity and junior varsity football tryouts Monday through Wednesday, from 4 to 6 p.m. each day, at the school’s field in Kahului. Aug. 20–The Paniaka Restoration Golf Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 20 at Makena Golf & Beach Club, with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The tournament, hosted by the Pacific Whale Foundation, will benefit the restoration of Paniaka Wetland in Makena State Park. The entry fee for the scramble event is $350 per player, which also pays for admission to a luncheon eligibility for prizes. July 29– The Iao Valley 10K is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on July 29, starting and ending at the Wailuku Municipal Parking Lot. The advance entry fees are $25 for Valley Isle Road Runner members and $35 for nonmembers. The fee is $45 on the day of the event. Registration can be completed at virr.com.
Aug. 19–The Xterra Adventure Fest Maui trail runs are scheduled for 8 a.m. on Aug. 19 in the area near D.T. Fleming Beach Park in Lahaina. Adult trails will be 5 and 10 kilometers, and a keiki 2K course is also offered. The entry fees until the end of July are $50 for the 10K, $40 for the 5K and $20 for the 2K. Prices for the 10K and 2K will each increase by $5 on Aug. 1. Relay teams for the 5K can enter for $50 per person until July 31, and for $60 after that date. June 27-29–Valley Isle Soccer Academy has scheduled a camp, with instruction from four coaches from the Royal Dutch Football Association — the Netherlands’ governing body of soccer — for June 27-29 at Kalama Park in Kihei. The camp is for boys and girls ages 9-18, and will have sessions from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 to 6 p.m. The entry fee is $200 until Tuesday, and $300 after that date.
