Bears top Na Alii, giving Warriors regular-season title

The Maui News – Alisa Kuehu had 17 kills, 13 assists and five digs in leading the Baldwin High School girls volleyball team to a four-set victory over King Kekaulike on Tuesday night at Jon Garcia Gym in Wailuku.

Siena DeCambra contributed 18 assists and 10 kills, and Sela Panuve had eight kills and two digs as the Bears won 16-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-22 to improve to 3-6 in Maui Interscholastic League play.

Nina Macphetridge had eight kills and six digs, and Brooklynne Albrecht added seven kills and two digs for Na Alii (5-4). Lauren Albrecht had 16 assists, two aces and five digs, and Lyric Love had four kills, four blocks and six digs.

The result clinches the MIL Division I regular-season title — and the state tournament berth that goes with it — for Kamehameha Maui (8-0), which was idle Tuesday. The Warriors next host Maui High on Thursday.
