King Kekaulike moves atop league standings

MIL BOWLING

The King Kekaulike High School boys bowling team took over first place in the Maui Interscholastic League standings Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Baldwin at Maui Bowling Center in Wailuku.

Logan Brittain had games of 171 and 168 for Na Alii (10-2), Gavin Brittain had a 158 and 147 and Trevor Onaga had a 157.

Kyle Fuchikami had a 138 for the Bears, who fell to 8-4 and into third place. Kainalu Torres-Estores had a 131.

Kamehameha Maui entered second place with a 3-0 win over Maui High.

Brendan Urayanza had a 161 for the Warriors (9-3), and Aisake Fakava had a 144.

John Pires was the top scorer for the Sabers (3-9) with a 155. Isaiah Chee added a 152 game.

The Kamehameha girls continued their perfect start to the season with a 3-0 victory over Maui High. Nadia Apo Takayama had a 158 for the Warriors (12-0), while Hea­lani Tolentino and Moani Shimada had games of 156. Elijah Dowells of the Sabers (4-8) had the high game, a 168. Camryn Ban had a 144.

The King Kekaulike girls won 3-0 over Baldwin. Jennea Nagura had a 156 for Na Alii (7-5), Adriana Araneta had a 134 and Kiley Kochi had a 133. Victoria Leong had games of 162 and 138 for the Bears (5-7), and Alyssa Rigols had a 133.
