Kuehu helps lead Bears past Sabers in 5

The Baldwin High School girls volleyball team earned its second straight five-set win Thursday, defeating Maui High 13-25, 25-23, 25-14, 26-24, 15-10 at Jon Garcia Gym in Wailuku to take sole possession of fourth place in the Maui Interscholastic League Division I standings.

Alisa Kuehu had 19 kills for the Bears (2-5), who beat Lahainaluna on Tuesday. Siena DeCambra had 29 assists and 11 kills, and Avei Silifaiva had four kills, four digs and two blocks.

The Sabers fell to 1-6.

Hana 3, Molokai 0

At Hoolehua, Nohokula Lind had 13 kills, five blocks and two aces as the Dragons swept by the Farmers 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.

Shya Roback had six kills and two aces, and Shaylee Roback added two aces and 24 assists for Hana (2-1).

Shaelyn McCuthcheon had eight kills to lead Molokai (4-3). Sehja Luhi Pedro added seven kills and Mary Grace Ringor dished out 21 assists.
