Defensive tackle Pasoni Tasini was one of eight players the Arizona Cardinals put on their practice squad Sunday.

Tasini, an undrafted rookie out of Utah, had five tackles during the preseason. He was cut by the Cardinals on Saturday as the team finalized its 53-player roster.

Tasini suffered a sprained knee Thursday in Arizona’s preseason loss to the Denver Broncos, but coach Bruce Arians said the injury did not appear serious, the Cardinals reported on their website.

Tasini is the only defensive tackle on the Cardinals’ practice squad. The other players are receiver Carlton Agudosi, guard Dorian Johnson, cornerback Ryan Lewis, defensive back Harlan Miller, tight end Ricky Seals-Jones, running back James Summers and linebacker Scooby Wright III. Teams can have up to 10 players on the practice squad.

Arizona has seven defensive tackles on its 53-player roster.

One player from Maui is on an active NFL roster — New Orleans Saints rookie defensive end Mitchell Loewen, a Lahainaluna graduate.
