Mauians earn wins at state disc golf
Maui competitors won titles in the amateur masters, amateur I and amateur II divisions of the state disc golf championships that took place Sept. 16-17 in Hilo.
Keith Saddler was the amateur masters winner with a 199, Cody Mailou-Kauai won the amateur I title with a 201 and Kelvin Kaiwi (211) was the amateur II champion.
Ueoka golf tournament scheduled for Oct. 21
The 25th annual Arthur T. Ueoka Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 21 at Maui Nui Golf Club in Kihei, with registration starting at 11 a.m. and play beginning at noon.
The registration fee for the two-person scramble is $150 per player, which also pays for lunch, dinner and entry into contests. Registration forms are available at mauibar.org.
Proceeds will support scholarships awarded by the Maui County Bar Association to individuals with ties to Maui who are studying law.

Hamai golf tournament to be held Oct. 28
The 44th annual Lester Hamai Memorial Women’s Golf Tournament, co-sponsored by Hamai Appliance and Servco Foundation, is scheduled for Oct. 28 at Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville, with a 7 a.m. start.
The tournament is open to all members of Maui women’s golf clubs who are at least 18 years old and have an established GHIN handicap no greater than 36.
The entry fee is $85, which also pays for lunch and eligibility for prizes. The entry deadline is Oct. 20, and the field is limited to 72 players. Entry forms are available at most Maui pro shops.
The event will benefit Maui County Council Boy Scouts of America.
