Eric Dugas of Kihei fired a 3-under-par 69 in gusty conditions Tuesday to win the Aloha Section Stroke Play Championship at Kapolei Golf Course on Oahu.

Dugas, a pro at Makena Golf & Beach Club, was the only golfer in the 28-player field to shoot under par in the second round and finished at 1-under 143, one stroke ahead of Wailuku’s Garrett Okamura of The Dunes at Maui Lani.

Okamura, the first-round leader, closed with a 74.

Hilo’s Kevin Hayashi (74) and Ewa Beach’s Kellan Anderson (75) tied for third at 5 over.

With his win, Dugas earns a spot in next year’s Sony Open, the PGA Tour’s first full-field event of the year set for Jan. 11-14 at Waialae Country Club on Oahu. He also will represent the Aloha Section in the PGA Professional National Championship, to be held June 17-20 at Bayonet Black Horse in Seaside, Calif.
