Lahaina siblings Ocean and Summer Macedo compete Monday at Turtle Bay, Oahu, where they each won World Surf League Junior Tour Hurley Surf Club Pro titles. Summer Macedo won the girls event with score of 13.24, taking the lead with an 8.17 wave with five minutes left in the championship heat, and adding a 5.07 in the closing seconds, sewing up a spot in January’s World Junior Championship in Australia. Oahu’s Zoe McDougall (12.50) finished second. Summer Macedo, who earlier this year won titles at the USA Surfing and National Scholastic Surfing Association championship events and last month placed third in the International Surfing Association World Junior Championships, also reached the semifinals of the Turtle Bay Resort Pro, a WSL qualifying series event, before bowing out Monday. In the Hurley boys contest, Ocean Macedo had a 14.66, and Oahu’s Barron Mamiya was second with an 11.20.
