Oct. 21–The 25th annual Arthur T. Ueoka Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 21 at Maui Nui Golf Club in Kihei, with registration starting at 11 a.m. and play beginning at noon. The registration fee for the two-person scramble is $150 per player, which also pays for lunch, dinner and entry into contests. Registration forms are available at Proceeds will support scholarships awarded by the Maui County Bar Association to individuals with ties to Maui who are studying law. Oct. 28–The 44th annual Lester Hamai Memorial Women’s Golf Tournament, co-sponsored by Hamai Appliance and Servco Foundation, is scheduled for Oct. 28 at Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville, with a 7 a.m. start. The tournament is open to all members of Maui women’s golf clubs who are at least 18 years old and have an established GHIN handicap no greater than 36. The entry fee is $85, which also pays for lunch and eligibility for prizes. The entry deadline is Oct. 20, and the field is limited to 72 players. Entry forms are available at most Maui pro shops. Nov. 25–Mulligan’s on the Blue in Wailea will conduct a charity golf tournament to benefit Hale Kau Kau on Nov. 25 at the Wailea Old Blue Course. The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $500 per team or $150 for an individual. Sponsorships are also being sought, as are prize donations. Oct. 15–The Maui Marathon, which will include individual and four-person relay events, as well as a half-marathon and the Maui Tacos 10K and 5K, are scheduled for Oct. 15. The marathon will start near the intersection Hookele Street and Hana Highway in Kahului at 5 a.m., and finish at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. The half-marathon, 10K and 5K will all start and finish at the hotel — the half-marathon will begin at 6 a.m., the 10K at 6:15 a.m. and the 5K at 6:30 a.m. Registration can be completed at

Oct. 21–The Stomp Out Hunger 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk are scheduled for 8 a.m. on Oct. 21, starting and ending at Hale Kau Kau in Kihei. The early entry fee for either event is $20, with a $5 discount for participants under 14 and over 65. The fees will increase to $30 at 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 17 for the 5K and at 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 19 for the walk. Registration can be completed at or by calling 875-8754.
