Third-round matchups in the men’s and women’s pro divisions of this year’s Aloha Classic were finalized Sunday at Hookipa Beach Park in Kuau, and the first champion of the International Windsurfing Tour event was crowned, with Ishii Ta­kara claiming the youth title.

In the men’s pro division, Sugi Takuma posted the top score of the second round, a 14.13, to claim one of the final 32 spots.

Tatiana Howard had a 14.33 in the second round of the women’s pro, which is down to its final 12.

Takara won the youth final with a 14.23. Sugi Takuma (12.16) was second, followed by Z Schettewi (8.47) and Luke Guidroz (7.63).

Takara posted a 16.23 on Thursday in a first-round heat — the best score in any division so far.

The amateur field completed its third round, setting up the semifinal matchups — Glenn Haslbeck, Yves Masnada, Mike Colee and Simeon Glasson will be in the first heat, and Victor Moncloa, Damien Girardin, Greg Aguera and Naldi Sagripanti will be in the second.

The holding period for the contest, which also has master and grand master divisions, ends next Sunday.
