Marquette vs. Wichita St.

8:30 a.m. • ESPN

What’s up? A meeting between teams that overcame second-half deficits to make the semifinals. Wichita State is trying to reach the Maui title game for a first time; Marquette was the 2007 runner-up. The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series 4-3 — this will be the first neutral-site matchup.

VCU vs. California

11 a.m. • ESPN2

What’s up? The two Mainland teams in this year’s field separated by the greatest distance have met just once before — Cal beat VCU in the 1997 Golden Bear Classic. Cal is trying to avoid being the first team representing the Pac-12 to be in the seventh-place game since Arizona State in 1998.

Chaminade vs. Michigan

3 p.m. • ESPN2

What’s up? With a third Maui title no longer a possibility, Michigan will seek to avoid just its second two-loss trip to the Valley Isle. Chaminade is trying not to be sent to the seventh-place game for a fifth consecutive year. The Wolverines and Silverswords have never met.

Notre Dame vs. LSU

5:30 p.m. • ESPN

What’s up? Notre Dame had the largest margin of victory in the first round and LSU had the closest call. The Fighting Irish are trying to reach the title game for the second straight time they’ve come to Maui. The Tigers won the teams’ only previous meeting, at the Superdome in 1990.
