California vs. Chaminade

9:30 a.m. • ESPNU

What’s up? California will try not to become the second team representing the Pac-12 or Pac-10 to go 0-3 on a Maui trip, and first since Stanford in 1992. Chaminade wants to avoid a fifth straight eighth-place finish. The Golden Bears beat the Silverswords in their one previous meeting, in 1980.

VCU vs. Michigan

Noon • ESPN2

What’s up? A Michigan win would be its 12th on Maui, tying Arizona and Kansas for third-most. VCU hopes to avoid matching the sixth-place finish from its only other visit, in 1986. The Wolverines beat the Rams the lone time they have met so far, in the 2013 NCAA tournament.

Marquette vs. LSU

3 p.m. • ESPN2

What’s up? Each team will be trying to leave Maui having gone 2-0 against unranked opponents. LSU can surpass its previous best finish with a victory — the Tigers were fourth in 1992. The Golden Eagles have won three times in the teams’ four all-time meetings.

Wichita State vs. Notre Dame

5:30 p.m. • ESPN2

What’s up? The field’s two ranked teams square off in the final. Notre Dame can give current Atlantic Coast Conference teams a 13th Maui crown. Wichita State can be the first team not in the “Power Five” to win it all since Gonzaga in 2009. The Fighting Irish are 2-1 against the Shockers.
