Duquette, Akinaka lead Na Alii past Spartans

The Maui News – Erynn Duquette had four goals and an assist, and Lyti Akinaka added two goals and three assists to lead the King Kekaulike High School girls soccer team to an 8-3 victory over Seabury Hall on Wednesday night at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku.

Kalena Pfaeltzer gave the Spartans (0-2-0) the early lead with her goal in the 2nd minute before Duquette’s scoring barrage — Duquette scored four straight goals from the 13th to 28th minutes, including two that were assisted by Akinaka, to put Na Alii (2-0-0) ahead for good.

Akinaka’s two goals and other assist — on Zoe Asue’s capper in the 93rd minute — came in the second half. Kawehi Andrade also scored for King Kekaulike.

Seabury Hall’s other goals were by Elly Swartz and Kyra Cambra.

Na Alii next face Baldwin, and the Spartans host Kamehameha Maui on Saturday.
