Hawaii loses to Princeton

HONOLULU (AP) — The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team finished sixth in the Diamond Head Classic on Monday, losing 77-63 to Princeton at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Devin Cannady scored a season-high 28 points — 26 in the second half — for the Tigers (7-7), and had eight rebounds.

Michael Thomas scored 22 points for UH (8-4), but just three in the second half. Brocke Stepteau finished with 15 points.

The teams were tied at 31 at halftime. Princeton made its last eight field-goal attempts of the game.

Amir Bell scored 11 points for the Tigers, and Jerome Desrosiers had 10.

The Rainbow Warriors were 9-for-20 from the foul line.

Hawaii will play its final nonconference game of the regular season on Friday at home against Howard.
