USA Rugby Director of Women’s High Performance Emilie Bydwell and USA men’s national team member Shalom Suniula will hold a national teams assessment combine today at Maui High School’s junior varsity football field in Kahului.

The combine is open to athletes 15 and older from any sport who are interested in having themselves measured agains the standards for Olympic athletes. Rugby experience is not required.

Registration will be open from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the field, with the combine running from 3 to 6 p.m. The cost is $20 per athlete. Hardship scholarships are available.

Past combines have helped athletes from Maui make rugby national teams, earn college scholarships and eventually play professionally.
