Warriors top Sabers in second-place battle

Austin Peters scored 21 points to lead the Kamehameha Schools Maui boys basketball team to a 54-48 victory over Maui High on Wednesday night in Pukalani.

Kamalu Segundo added 14 points for the Warriors (3-3), who entered a tie with the Sabers for second place in the Maui Interscholastic League Division I standings.

Chey Higashiguchi had 13 points to lead Maui High (3-3).

KING KEKAULIKE BOYS 42, BALDWIN 39

At Wailuku, Carson Yoshida hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Na Alii to victory.

Richard Chun had 14 points to lead King Kekaulike (2-5), which defeated the Bears (2-5) for the second night in a row.

Mochi Dukelow had 12 points and Darius Pulgados added 10 for Baldwin.

MAUI HIGH GIRLS 39, KAMEHAMEHA MAUI 30

At Pukalani, Honey Let Padasdao scored 14 points to lead the Sabers (4-5) past the Warriors (5-4).

Kamaile Cugal added nine points for Maui High.

Ashley Peralta scored 13 points and Angel Pauole had 11 to lead Kamehameha Maui.

KING KEKAULIKE GIRLS 33, BALDWIN 31

At Wailuku, Cailyn Ukida’s layup as time expired provided the winning points for Na Alii.

Temahh Shaw scored 10 points and Ukida finished with six for King Kekaulike, which improved to 5-5.

The Bears (0-10) were led by Melissa Caliva’s 11 points.
