Anteaters deal Rainbow Warriors four-set loss

The third-ranked University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team was dealt just its second loss of the season Sunday, falling to No. 5 UC Irvine in four sets at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Stijn van Tilburg had 27 kills and Rado Parapunov added 12 kills for the Rainbow Warriors (9-2, 1-1 Big West) in the 17-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-22 loss.
Karl Apfelbach had 24 kills and Aaron Koubi had 16 kills to lead the Anteaters (11-4, 1-1), who hit .435 for the match — Hawaii hit .397.
Colton Cowell, a graduate of King Kekaulike High School, had one service error for UH, which next hosts Concordia-Irvine on Friday.
