Bears open season with 19-2 victory over Sabers

Rebecca Buenrostro-Gallimore had five goals, and Baldwin High School started defense of its Maui Interscholastic League title with a 19-2 victory over Maui High on Tuesday as the MIL water polo season got started at Sakamoto Pool in Wailuku.

Audrey Reiss added three goals for the Bears, who had nine goal scorers.

Kylie Robinson and Madeline Buland each had a goal for the Sabers.

King Kekaulike 20, Kamehameha Maui 5

Makanahele Emmsley scored six goals to lead Na Alii past the Warriors.

Ceci Buckingham and Louisa Buckingham each had five goals and Montana Disegna added four for King Kekaulike, which led 6-0 after the first quarter and 13-1 at the half.

Labryana Hookane led Kamehameha Maui with a pair of goals.

Lahainaluna 13, Seabury Hall 6

The Lunas got 10 goals from Dakota Delos-Reyes to get a season-opening win over the Spartans.

Lahainaluna, last year’s MIL runner-up, took control with four goals in the second quarter to take a 7-2 lead.

Skylar Lickle had four goals to pace Seabury Hall.
