Bears blank Na Alii, next face Lunas in battle of unbeatens

MIL WATER POLO

Rebecca Buenrostro-Gallimore and Audrey Reiss each scored three goals to lead the Baldwin High School water polo team to a 13-0 victory over King Kekaulike on Saturday at Piilani Pool in Pukalani.

Seven Bears scored in the game, with Jessica Baker and Kristy Kimura each contributing two goals apiece.

Baldwin improved to 3-0 and next faces fellow unbeaten Lahainaluna on Tuesday at Sakamoto Pool in Wailuku — the Bears and Lunas finished 1-2 last year in the Maui Interscholastic League.

Na Alii fell to 2-1.

LAHAINALUNA 13, MAUI HIGH 6

At Pukalani, Hailey Bogar scored four goals as the Lunas improved to 3-0.

Lahainaluna led just 5-2 at halftime before taking control with a 7-0 third quarter.

Nikki Zamani and Kyra Franz each added two goals for the Lunas.

The Sabers (0-3) were led by Kylie Robinson and Caroline Short, who each scored two goals.

SEABURY HALL 14, KAMEHAMEHA MAUI 5

At Pukalani, the Spartans picked up their first win of the season thanks in large part to Skylar Lickle’s six goals.

Sydney Walker had three goals and Eden Lingenfelder added two for Seabury Hall (1-2), which led 6-1 after the first quarter and 11-1 at the half.

Maddie Dutro and Labryana Hookano each scored twice for the Warriors (0-3).
