Farmers down Pine Lasses, take D-II title

Molokai High School’s Tehani Yamamoto throws a pitch in the third inning of the Farmers’ 12-2, six-inning win over Lanai in the Maui Interscholastic League Division II tournament championship game Saturday at Patsy Mink Field in Kahului. With the win, the Farmers (12-0) clinched their second straight MIL title and the league’s lone guaranteed state tournament berth. The Pine Lasses (4-4) will play the KIF runner-up on Kauai in a state tournament play-in game Wednesday.
