Maui High School’s Jordan Terada and Reese Guzman lead heading into today’s final round of the Maui Interscholastic League individual golf championships.

Terada shot a boys-best 9-over 81 during Friday’s third round at The Dunes at Maui Lani to take a three-shot lead over St. Anthony’s Chad Lee.

Terada, who finished fifth at last year’s state tournament, was at 22-over 238.

Lee, who gave up a seven-shot lead in the second round last week, rebounded to shoot an 83. Seabury Hall’s Ryan Chang (86) was another three shots back.

Second-round leader Hudson Holland of Maui Prep carded a 96 to fall 14 shots off the lead.

Terada

As she had done each of the previous two rounds, defending MIL girls champion Guzman extended her lead with the best score of the day, a 5-over 77. The Sabers junior, who was the state runner-up last season, leads Baldwin’s Jaelin Ishikawa (78) by 17 shots at 3-over 219.

The Bears’ Lana Calibuso-Kwee shot a 79 and was at 237.

The tournament’s final round starts at 10:30 a.m. today at the Kapalua Bay Course.
