• BASKETBALL

Saturday-July 30–Heads Up Basketball, headed by former Lahainaluna High School and Gonzaga University player Maiki Viela, will hold a basketball clinic from Saturday through July 30 at War Memorial Gym in Wailuku. The clinic will also offer instruction by former Gonzaga players Danielle Walter and Keani Albanez, who plays professionally in Greece. Sessions for the first two days will be 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. (4th-7th graders) and noon to 2:30 p.m. (8th to 12th graders). The one-day fee is $45, and the two-day fee is $80. • BOWLING

Tuesday and Wednesday–Sign-ups for the Baldwin High School girls and boys bowling teams are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday during registration at the Wailuku campus. A current physical and parental consent form are needed to participate in tryouts, which are July 30 at Maui Bowling Center in Wailuku. • FISHING

Saturday–The Maui Trailer Boat Club will host the 34th annual North Shore Hanapaa Tournament on Saturday. Competitors will launch from Kahului Harbor, with fishing beginning at 5:30 a.m. Registration is $350 per boat for two people with an additional $25 for additional anglers. Late entries will be charged $400 per boat. Applications are available at Maui Sporting Goods and New Maui Fishing Supply, and online at mauitrailerboat.com. • GOLF

Sept. 8–The Seabury Hall Alumni Association will host the 24th annual Seabury Hall Golf Tournament on Sept. 8 at the Wailea Golf Club’s Emerald Course. The two-player team scramble begins at 7:45 a.m. The tournament includes a contental breakfast before the tournament and an awards luncheon at Gannon’s Restaurant following play. The entry fee is $195 for a single player and $390 for a two-player team. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Proceeds support scholarships, Seabury Hall athletics and alumni programs. • OFFICIATING

Saturday–The Maui Interscholastic League will hold the inaugural Official and Coaches Symposium at the Baldwin High School lecture hall on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. The goal of the conference will be to discuss and recruit officials and coaches to officiate sports at the high school level. Judge Joe Cardoza, a former football official with more than 40 years of experience, will be a guest speaker. The symposium is open to anyone who is interested in becoming an official, regardless of experience.

Wednesday–The second summer session of the USTA Play to Learn Youth Tennis program starts Wednesday at Eddie Tam courts in Makawao. Classes will be held each Wednesday for six weeks for beginners and advance beginners from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for children ages 12-14, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for 6-8 and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for 9-11. Sept. 26-30–The High Powered Doubles Tennis Camp is scheduled for Sept. 26-30 at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch. Instruction will be offered by 16-time Grand Slam winning doubles players Bob and Mike Bryan, former Olympic coach Tom Gullickson as well as other top coaches. The camp is open to players ranked from 4.0 to 5.5. Camp fees, which include accommodations for four nights at the Royal Lahaina Resort, is $3,595 for double occupancy and $3,895 for single occupancy. Aug. 2-5–Keauhou Volleyball Association’s Summer Jam Beach Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 2-5 in Kailua-Kona. The tournament is seeking outerisland participants, including teams from Maui. Divisions include men’s and women’s novice doubles, men’s and women’s open doubles, mixed doubles and open quads.
